The Abortion Conversion Project


The Abortion Conversion Project is a new resource for those wishing to have a deep AND thoughtful pro-choice dialogue about abortion. The Abortion Conversation Project, comprised of abortion providers and allies, aims to create safe spaces for people to have discussions about abortion as well as to eradicate the stigma of abortion. Activities include a travel packet for conversations on the way to the April25th March for Women's Lives called EnRoute: Real Talk about Abortion available on the website and in print from Info@AbortionConversation.com. Soon to come is an exporatory report on post abortion emotional health, and model programs for clergy and providers.


The Alan Guttmacher Institute


The Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI) provides reliable, balanced, nonpartisan information on abortion, contraception, childbearing and sexual activity. AGI's mission is to protect the reproductive choices of all women and men - in the United States and throughout the world. AGI carries out reproductive health research, policy analysis and public education. Its three journals Perspectives in Sexual and Reproductive Health (formerly Family Planning Perspectives), Report on Public Policy and International Family Planning Perspectives are available on the site.

Annual Review of Population Law

This database contains summaries and excerpts of legislation, constitutions, court decisions, and other official government documents from every country in the world relating to population policies, reproductive health, women's rights, and related topics. It is produced jointly by Harvard Law School and the United Nations Population Fund.

Demographic and Health Surveys

The Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) program provides data and analysis on the population, health, and nutrition of women and children in developing countries, including information on fertility and fertility preferences.

Family Health International

Family Health International (FHI) works to improve reproductive and family health around the world through biomedical and social science research, innovative health service delivery interventions, training and information programs.

Global Reproductive Health Forum

The Global Reproductive Health Forum at Harvard (GRHF), based at Harvard University, aims to encourage the proliferation of critical, democratic discussions about reproductive health, reproductive technologies and reproductive rights.

The Kaiser Family Foundation (Reproductive Health)

This section of the U.S. based Kaiser Family Foundation's (KFF) site serves as a resource for the public, media, corporations, and other interested organizations on reproductive and sexual health issues, providing current information, conducting briefings, participating in special partnerships and developing public education campaigns. KFF also supply a, excellent daily e-mail update of reproductive health news, which can be subscribed to via the site.

Population Council

The Population Council is an international, nonprofit institution that conducts research on three fronts: biomedical, social science, and public health. Its mission is to improve the well-being and reproductive health of current and future generations and to help achieve a humane, equitable, and sustainable balance between people and resources.

Progress Educational Trust

Progress Educational Trust is a registered charity, set up to promote the benefits of reproductive and genetic science. On its site you will find information and comment about issues including IVF, cloning technology and genetics. You can subscribe through the site to Progress' excellent weekly update, BioNews.

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists

BPAS

BPAS supports reproductive choice by advocating and providing high-quality, affordable services to prevent or end unwanted pregnancy with contraception or by abortion.

EngenderHealth

EngenderHealth works worldwide to improve the lives of individuals by making reproductive health services safe, available, and sustainable. The organization provides technical assistance, training, and information, with a focus on practical solutions that improve services where resources are scarce.

International Planned Parenthood Federation

IPPF is committed to promoting the rights of women and men to decide freely the number and spacing of their children and to achieve the highest possible level of sexual and reproductive health. One of their primary aims is to eliminate unsafe abortion.

Irish Family Planning Association

This site includes items from clear and simple contraception factsheets to the most comprehensive database of Irish and international sexual health news. The IFPA's on-line campaign and action newsletter 'cq' can be accessed through the site, which offers comprehensive up to date and archive information on IFPA's work to achieve sexual and reproductive rights and health in Ireland and internationally.

Marie Stopes International

Marie Stopes International is a reproductive healthcare agency whose mission is to ensure the fundamental human right of all people to have children by choice not chance.

National Abortion Federation (NAF)

Founded in 1977, NAF is the professional association of abortion providers in the United States and Canada. The organization's mission is to preserve and enhance the quality and accessibility of abortion services. The site contains information about clinics affiliated to NAF, as well as news and campaign updates.

Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood's site, subtitled 'A Guide to Healthy Sexuality', is a comprehensive source of on-line information regarding safe sex and abortions. Its attractive and user-friendly layout complements the extensive amount of practical and valuable information available.

Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG)

This website is designed to provide information to College members about the RCOG, including details of Courses and Events, Examination regulations and timetables and services. It is also useful for those who want to find out about current practise and developments in obstetrics and gynaecology in Britain.
