Using our RSS feeds

Even if you’re unfamiliar with RSS feeds, they are easy to use. Basically you need to use a news reader to subscribe to and view the RSS feeds. A news reader is a piece of software that checks RSS feeds and alerts you to any information that has been added to the RSS provider, or in other words any new items that have been added to the website. There are numerous RSS news readers available, some of which are web based and accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications that run from your PC/Mac. Browser-based news readers, due to their nature, allow you to keep up to date with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer that has access to the internet, whereas downloadable applications let you store them on your main computer, in the same way that you would download your e-mail using your email application for example. Once you've subscribed to the PCF RSS feed it will automatically keep up to date with the any changes to the content on the PCF site.

RSS news readers

There are many news readers available and, unless using a web based news reader, are specific to your computers operating system (PC/Mac etc), so if you aim to use a downloadable news reader then you will need to choose one that is compatible with your computer system.

If you have a google account then you can easily set it as your homepage and customise it to receive RSS feeds.

Some browsers, including Firefox, Opera and Safari 2.0 (Mac only), automatically check for RSS feeds for you when you visit a website, and display an icon when they find one. This can make subscribing to RSS feeds a very easy process.
